Dear Members The Wild Goose, John Wayne’s Yacht and Newport Bay defined our ISACA Orange County Chapter social event. Members and guests joined us for a Hawaiian themed party to celebrate our many accomplishments and to thank our members for their continued support. A Polynesian dancer and all her helpers (our brave members who got up to show their moves…) took us from Hawaii to Samoa in a short but exciting afternoon! More than networking, this was a bonding and fun filled afternoon and I hope you enjoyed this event as much as I did! Thanks to Ernst & Young for its sponsorship of this event. Today, we launch our new website! Yes! We are taking an opportunity to give our site a fresh look and are hoping to automate the registration process. So, please next time you register for an event, we encourage you to go through our website at www.isacaoc.org. I want to thank Jane Vong, our Director of Marketing and Communications, for her dedication and collaborative approach to make this new website a reality. Great job! Our June meeting is almost here! This will be the last meeting of the year before we go dark for the summer. So, before you take a CPE break, we want to give you one last opportunity to earn 2 CPEs. On June 2nd from 4pm to 6pm Mike Villegas will walk you through the PCI requirements from the merchant’s perspective. Make sure you register as soon as possible. After Mike’s presentation we will hold our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elections. We will vote on the proposed new bylaws and recap the year so that the new members of the board and our membership can get a sense of the state of affairs of our Chapter. It has almost been two years since I took office and I have enjoyed every bit of this amazing opportunity. Not only did I have the chance to roll out a new strategy but, I had the opportunity to work with an amazing team to carry it out. Together we accomplished so much, Thank you, David Barton, Kent Kieffer, Jane Vong, Jason James, Gary Treffry, Sarah Liang, Sal Sarabosing, Jennifer Alfafara, Sanjeev Tak, Luis Garay, Shabnam Jalakian, Tom Murray, Ray Gatchalian and Jason Uhlman. I counted on you and you delivered! Thank you for caring about our Chapter and our profession, thank you for giving it your all and for affording me to opportunity to make the Orange County Chapter bigger, better and stronger. You made a difference! To our members and countless volunteers, thank you for your friendship. I encourage you to get involved with our Chapter, be a leader, give back, trust me, it pays off. Best, Patty Schell ISACA Orange County, President
